Have you ever thought about starting a blog? Do you have any fears that have stopped you? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below along with any questions you have!
For me starting my own blog was a challenge because I had to find the time to fit it all in and take the jump of leaving my old job.
It was also that why on earth would anyone want to read my blog. So I’m still getting there with that. My site is getting better but honestly, every time I have views for longer than a minute I do think ‘do they really find it interesting?’!
That’s a question we all ask at the beginning, and the answer is yes! If you keep adding content that you’re proud of and that’s written with your own unique voice and style, your traffic will come!
Writing a blog is challenging at first. It is especially challenging if you haven’t determined what your passion is yet. A lot of people want to write but don’t really know what to write about.
I like that you mentioned that you started writing for yourself and not for your audience at first. This is important because if you aren’t passionate about the subject, you will never win over an audience because readers can tell when the author isn’t all in.
You’re exactly right! If you are excited and passionate about your topic, that will come through to your readers. But if you are writing in a way that you think people will like, but it’s not natural to you, that will come through to your readers as well.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I would really love to start a unique blog and I have tried and it seems not to be working for me but I think I am able to follow the tips that you have provided on ways to starts a unique blog that will give a and be a Reliable voice to my audience in the online market.

Hi! I agree that we should write a blog that is interesting to us. I think that no matter what topic we choose, there will be people who are interested in the topic too. Choosing a popular niche that you are not interested in is definitely going to affect your passion, productivity and the long term maintenance of your website.
You’re exactly right!
Wow, I must express my shock at the shortness of your post. I thought all posts must be 1000 words or above, and that’s real scary! I’ve done only one post so far, and thinking about doing more brings me chills. Your short post is motivation to do my articles to my taste, whether short or long.
Anyway, I absolutely agree that we should put what we like to read above what others like to read, when considering topics to write on. Because, that way we’d do it happily, since we love it, and it’d most likely come naturally, without putting up an act. Resulting in all parties beinging happy.
When I learned how to write content for my first blog, I was always worried about making sure that every post was 1000 words! But after I got some experience, I learned that what was more important was covering my topic thoroughly. So now my posts run anywhere from a few hundred words when I’m sharing something like this article I love to 2000-3000 words for many of my reviews.
It’s just like you said, it comes more naturally and I enjoy the process much more than worrying about a word count!
I think that is the right word, stop thinking about what other people want to read and start thing about what you want to read. Wealthy Affiliates is a great community everyone interested in making money should belong. the people there are awesome, more than eager to be of help to one another. the tools and resources by kyle and Carson are much than enough to help someone make a living online
Exactly, I write my blog the way I talk, and it’s an extension of me. The reason I love that article so much is that I learned it’s good to create a blog that represents who I am and what I want to communicate. I stopped worrying about whether or not other people would like it–I like it!
I somewhat agree what your talking about, in that you shouldn’t try to right about something you don’t like — but Esther something you enjoy.
And the great thing is if you like a certain topic, there’s going be good thousands of other people who like it to which is called a niche.
And once you find a unique way to talk about it, then people will listen to you.
If you don’t mind me asking, what are some of your favorite niches / topics you talk about?
My favorite niches are pets, kitchens, and gardening–I can talk about my dogs, my favorite kitchen gadgets, and my vegetable garden and fruit orchard all day!
I learned it a little bit different than how you expressed it. You mentioned blogging about things you like to read about. I learned long time ago, that bloggers should choose a niche that they love to write about. Because there are people who like to read about the niche people like to write about.
Thank you so much for your input because what it was supposed to say is to blog about things you like to write about! (It’s changed now) You’re exactly right, and I always advocate choosing a niche that you’re passionate about, especially as a beginner.
That’s why I love my readers–you keep me on the straight and narrow, thank you!
My fear of starting a blog, is the fear of rejection. I say this as I feel that my content will not be good enough or that I might be boring and ‘scare’ people away.
I really am not much of a writer. You did mention something though that struck a cord. When you said that one should look at it from the point of how it appeals to them, rather than to others. That is good advice.
The other fear is that I think one needs to have technical skills to build a blog. Does Wealthy Affiliate make the process of building a website easy?
Thanks for your time.
It’s amazing how easy it is to build a website now. In fact, with Wealthy Affiliate you can have a WordPress website up and live in 3 minutes! You don’t need to know any coding or technical knowledge at all, in fact, I have none of those skills and currently have 6 websites.
If this grandmother of 5 can do it, you can too!
I have always wanted to be the boss of my own self and that is why I joined wealthy affiliates after so many years of searching for a legitimate way of making money online. I am here to make money legitimately but the fear of writing a blog which people would love to read has been a challenge to me. I feel like to start writing but don’t really know how to start despite the fact that I have always believed in my self that I can achieve anything but writing a blog of up to 1000 words or more has been my fear. Please your advice is welcomed. Thank you.
The best advice I can give you is to stop thinking in terms of writing a 1000 word blog. You need to think of it as a conversation that you’re having with your readers.
For example, supposed your niche is basketball shoes, and you’re going to write a review about the best Nike shoes. What would you say to someone who asked you what the best Nike basketball shoes are and why? Whatever you would say to them is what you should write. Don’t worry about writing perfect or how someone else might write it, you just have to be yourself!
Once you have written your post, make sure you’ve covered everything about your topic thoroughly. Then if it’s only 800 words, that’s ok. But I’ll bet you’ll be surprised by how much you’ve written, and you’ll get better and better as time goes on. Good luck!
